June Harding Obituary

June Harding, 92, of Bozeman passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008.

June was born June 17, 1916, in Sheridan to Bill and Nancy Kearney.

She would later marry Ed Harding.

In 1933, June graduated from high school in Sheridan. From 1933 to 1935, she attended Western Montana College, graduating with an elementary teaching degree. She held teaching jobs in Sheridan, Norris and Bozeman, teaching at Hawthorne Elementary for 16 years.

She spent most of her life in Gallatin Valley. She loved to socialize and attend dance clubs with Ed. Her family was her biggest joy, and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; one sister, Isabell Marsh; and a son-in-law, Joe Monforton.

Survivors include one son, Jim (Mary) Harding of Bozeman; daughter, Joan (Harding) Monforton of Bozeman; three grandchildren, Cheri (Chuck) Arnold of Spokane, Wash., Joey Monforton of Seattle, Wash., and Travis Harding of Anchorage, Alaska; and great-grandchildren, Chris and J.C. Arnold of Spokane, Natalie (Reese) Riggin of Great Falls, Amy Monforton and Michelle (Steve) Woodward, all of Post Falls, Idaho. She is also survived by eight great-great-grandchildren: Andrew, Janessa, Gabriel, and Noelle Woodard, Tristan Arnold, Alex Hughes, Joey Arnold, and a new great-great-grandchild expected in September.

Memorials may be made to the Heart of the Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 11390, Bozeman 59719.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Dahl Funeral Chapel.
