Miguel Angel Torre was born on Feb. 3, 1953, in the city of Obregon, in the state of Sonora in Mexico. He is eldest son of Micaela Torre Nieves and the late Amador Antonio Torre Martinez. He is survived by his mother; his siblings, Blanca Estela Matosich, Antonio Amador Torre, Alejandro Torre, Armando Torre, Sergio Torre, Maria Alejandrina Parra, Luis Alberto Torre and Maria Agustina Torre; and his children, Lotus Alexandra Torre, Michael Joshua Torre, and Tara Rose-Marie Torre.
In 1977, at the age of 24, Miguel joined The Summit Lighthouse staff in Pasadena, California, joining the Keepers of the Flame Fraternity on July 17, 1977, and becoming a Communicant on July 5, 1978. Stumping with Mother (Elizabeth Clare Prophet) across the United States, Miguel visited study groups and Teaching Centers to share the Teachings of Mark and Mother with everyone he met. He was instrumental in outreach to the Spanish-speaking communities, and was asked by Mother to build the community in Miami where his three children were born.
When the time came, and when he heard the call, Miguel moved his family to Montana in 1987. In the late 1980s he did the hard work of fighting fires in Yellowstone National Park seasonally. With fire in his heart and his in mind in the sky, a close friend suggested Miguel work in carpentry to ground himself, and he learned carpentry, masonry, plumbing and concrete work and worked as an independent contractor in Paradise Valley, Livingston and Bozeman.
Miguel also helped to build the Deep Core Shelters at the Royal Teton Ranch in Corwin Springs, and the shelters in North and South Glastonbury. Servicing his community, Miguel served as a President of the North Glastonbury Teaching Center and also sat on the board of Thomas More School where his children attended.
Miguel is remembered for dedication to spreading the Teachings of the Ascended Masters, from the age of 24 to even in his last days, as he battled diabetes and renal failure. His last years were spent in inner contemplation, prayer, inner study and outreach, until his passing on Aug. 12, 2016, in Bozeman.
Miguel's memorial service is open to all of his many friends, and will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. at King Arthur's Court, 63 Summit Road, in Gardiner, Montana.
