Carol Jean Dennis, 59, of Bradenton, died March 9, 2004 at Hospice House of Bradenton. Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 10:30 a.m., at Christ United Methodist Church in Bradenton. Rev. Alex M. Knight will be officiating. Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manatee Avenue Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, November 7, 1944, she came to Manatee County from Norwood, Ohio in 1972. She was an Elementary School Counselor with Manatee County Schools. She worshiped at Christ United Methodist Church, Bradenton. Member of Phi Kappa Phi & Sweet Adelines. Advisor for Youth for Christ and was 1998 Wakeland Teacher of the Year. Survivors include sister, Sally Ann Merkhofer of Bradenton; brother, Fred M. Dennis of Bradenton; nieces, Jennifer Ackles and Alicia Geary; great nieces, Whitney Ackles and Emma Ackerland; and great nephew, Brian Ackles.
