Christian Wellons Carden, 20, of 1290 Halstead Boulevard, Elizabeth City, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Albemarle Hospital. Born in Pasquotank County he was a printer and partner at Precision Printing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an avid hunter and soccer player and loved the outdoors. Christian, known as "The Whippersnapper" by his family, had a tremendous love of family and was a proud and devoted father. He will be remembered for his bright smile, warm heart, wonderful spirit and kind soul. He is survived by his father, Jesse Norman Carden Sr., and wife, Michelle, of Elizabeth City and his mother, Claudia Songster Carden and her finance, Perry Hardison, of Williamston. He is also survived by the love of his life, Alexis Honeycutt of Elizabeth City; and their son, Noah Clark Carden, his most proud accomplishment; two sisters, Candi Christine Thomas and husband, Jeff, of Raleigh and Jennifer Carden Holmes and husband, Tony, of Wilmington; five brothers, Daniel Evans and wife, Oksana, of Kitty Hawk; Jesse Carden Jr., of Suffolk, Va., Victor Carden and wife, Crystal, of Chesapeake, Va., Justine Evans and wife, Shaun, of Wilmington and Cody Carden of Williamston; and maternal grandmother Mamina of Paris, France; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a number of extended family members whom he truly loved. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Jeff Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence of his father, Jesse Carden, 107 William Drive, Elizabeth City. Flowers are welcome and donations may be made to the SPCA Of Northeastern NC, PO Box 1772, Elizabeth City, NC 27906 in honor of Christian as he had a love for all animals..
