Constance Russell

1949 - 2026

Constance "Connie" Russell, lovingly known as "Nonni," passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, surrounded by love and family. Born on April 26, 1949 in Parsippany, NJ, Connie lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to others.



She is survived by her two daughters, Carrie Rizzo (Vincent Rizzo) and Sarah Hanson (Stephen Fitzmaurice), and her beloved grandson, Camillo Rizzo, who brought her endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind her best friend and former sister-in-law, Chris Kotchi. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Nan Russell, and her sister, Dianne Stevenson.



Connie received a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University in Washington, DC. She went on to build a private practice in Manatee County, FL as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and dedicated her life to helping countless children and families. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and understood; and she never hesitated to stand up for what was right.



She loved her family fiercely and found joy in the simple things: a good book, a long bike ride, swimming in the ocean, and laughing until it hurt. She enjoyed foreign travel-beginning after college as a Doughnut Dolly with the Red Cross in South Korea-but she felt most at peace in Cocoa Beach, FL where she could be found boogie boarding and soaking up the sun and salt air.



Known for her strong opinions, big heart, and sense of humor, Connie had a way of telling it like it was-firmly, but always with love. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and just the right amount of stubbornness to get things done.



A Celebration of Life will be held in Cocoa Beach, FL where family and friends will gather to honor and remember her in the place she loved most.
