John Phelan Obituary
November 6, 1925 - March 20, 2021
Bradenton, Florida - Husband to his beloved, late Helen, Brother to Jean and Marjorie and the late Bernard, Father to Steve, Grandfather to Jessica and Kathleen, Great-Grandfather to Daniel.
A native of Chicago, he interrupted his education at DePaul University to serve in the Navy during WWII.
Jack was a member of the 1946 N.I.T. Basketball Champion DePaul Blue Demons, the NBA Sheboygan Redskins, and the Harlem Globetrotters.
After a short stint selling Fox De Luxe Beer in Chicago, Jack spent the rest of his business career at Nalco Chemical Company, rising from Salesman to Vice President while working in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Chicago.
Jack moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1986, living at Palm Aire and perfecting his golf game for many years before moving to Freedom Village in Bradenton, FL. He will be remembered by his many friends as a bigger than life presence that will be sorely missed. Arrangements through Allen Moore Funeral Home. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Jack will surely be missed. He was a wonderful man. Loved his Helen so much. His family was his world. Thru the years learned so much about his travels and career. Will miss our talks
