Kathleen Burkett Obituary

Bradenton, Florida - Kathleen Ann Burkett, 63, passed quietly at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Bradenton, FL, "Kathy" taught elementary education for more than thirty years. She is pre-deceased by her parents, Warren and Mary Burkett and a sister, Claudia Jean Gusarson. She is survived by two brothers; John Parker (Betsy), Warren Burkett III (Emme), and nieces; Mary Eva Parker, Whitney Jean Yost (Eric, Brody and Cory). In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to the Bishop Animal Shelter in Bradenton, Florida.

Kathy was one of the first friends I made after moving here from NY in 7th grade. We had some fun times and one wild & scary adventure I will never forget! She was a true friend. I thought of her fondly over these many years. I know she will be missed by all of her family, friends & colleagues.

Butch - just learned of Kathy passing away - we all had really great times when we were together as kids - as we got older everyone went their own directions but the friendships never stopped - thinking of you and your family - Kathy will be missed

Kathy was a big part of our family for many years. She once busted a jar of pickles all over our boat by tapping it on the edge trying to open it. Well she sure got it open. She will be deeply missed. Kathy was in pain for a long time and now may she Rest In Peace. Condolences to all her family and friends.
