Kimm Middleton

1957 - 2025

Our beloved Kimm Yvette Middleton of Bradenton, FL passed away on November 29, 2025.

Kimm Middleton was born on May 30, 1957 to the late Norman A. and Dorothy W. Middleton, Sr. She was the third of three siblings and the only baby girl. Her brothers, Norman A. Middleton, Jr. and Orville F. Middleton preceded her in death.

Kimm was a graduate of the Manatee High School Class of 1975. She played in the Hurricane Marching Band. After completing High School, she furthered her education at the prestigious Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa earning her Bachelor's degree in Journalism. After graduation, she accepted a position in Littleton, Colorado, working for Lockheed-Martin/Martin Marietta and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

She also earned a Master's degree from Berean Christian College and Seminary.

Kimm was a journalist in her professional life. A writer at the Sarasota Herald Tribune newspaper, "Yvette Kimm" was her pen name. She held positions of Society columnist and later the Editor of Community Events. She wrote numerous articles on the Who's Who of Manatee County and promoted countless community events and organizations through her column. This position allowed her to meet many of Manatee County's community leaders and philanthropists. Two of the most impactful whom she formed a special bond were Pasqualina Maria Concetta Siciliano, aka, "Lee" Peterson (and her husband Bob) and Sue Klauber (and her husband "Murf"). They were so kind and gracious to her. In addition, she was a writer for Tempo News, published by the late Johnny Hunter Sr.

Kimm was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, The Links, Inc., The Jack and Jill of America and a supporter of the Pace Center for Girls, among many others.

Kimm, a woman of great strength and courage, will be forever remembered by her beloved George and Rosetta Archer, Jr.; E. Jacqueline Hester and family, Carolyn Carnegie and family, Jill Carnegie Moore and family, Kirkland Carnegie and family, Johnny McKinney and family, our dear Patrick Carnegie, Carrie Ann Green and family, Melba Huggins and family, Sheila, John and Andrew Barker and families, Carl Middleton, Jr and family, Sandra Middleton-Draw and family; the family of the late Kate Sue; all the Middleton's, Carnegie's, McKinney's and Wilkin's; her St. Mary family; and a host of extended family members and hometown neighbors.

A Private Burial will be held.
