Bradenton, Florida - Mary Janis Smith, "January",85, of Ellenton, FL passed away Saturday June 4, 2022. Jan was born on December 24, 1936 in Elizabethton, Tennessee. January was an artist and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from University of South Florida in 1990.
She was a long time member of the Art League of Manatee County. She also used her creative skills as a Girl Scout Troop Leader when her children were small. She was previously married to W.A. "Bert" Smith, with whom she had four children: Samuel E. Smith of Ellenton, FL, Pamela L. Smith of South Carolina, Heather Smith Knuth of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Melanie Smith Williams of Bradenton, FL.
She is survived by Samuel, Heather (Rich), Melanie (Troy) and her two grandsons Sawyer and Bryson Knuth of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
