Michele Mohan Obituary

Michele Rae Mohan

September 22, 1967 - November 14, 2024

Bradenton, Florida - It is with deep sadness that we share that Michele Rae Mohan passed away at the age of 57, on November 14, 2024. Chel lived a good life. She was a beautiful soul who left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Chel anticipated the needs of others, offering a truthful word or a comforting gift that made you feel seen and loved, always without being asked.

She was incredibly strong and fought ovarian cancer for 4 ½ years. During that time, she continued to support others, made meaningful trips to experience wildlife and scenic sights, and created lasting memories with her family. Chel cherished exploring the US and Canada by car with her husband. Together with her family, she visited Banff and Glacier National Parks. She shared special moments with her daughter Rachel, watching wild horses run on Chincoteague Island, with her son Jon, marveling at fireflies in the Great Smoky Mountains and a long road trip to Eastern Canada with sons Jon and Thomas, to visit her husband's family. Chel also explored the Outer Banks with her husband, took weekend trips to Disney and day trips around Florida with her sisters, and spent cherished time with her parents, playing games and enjoying local beaches. Remarkably, she continued working for PwC until nearly the end, finding joy and fulfillment in helping others.

Chel was predeceased by her father, Richard Mohan; her Uncle Ron Grens; Nancy Cozy; Uncle Tom Lyons; Aunt Judy and Uncle Jerry Mohan; her stepson, Connor Perry; and close family friend, Megan Greiling. She leaves behind a brokenhearted family, her loving mother, Marsha Mohan; and her cherished children, Jon Baber, Rachel Baber, and Thomas Baber, whom she loved deeply, was immensely proud of, and felt grateful for every day. She is also survived by her devoted husband, Dave Perry, who lovingly cared for her throughout her cancer journey; her three beloved sisters, Maureen (Scott) Watson, Melissa Mohan, and Meredith (Chris) Dyson; her stepchildren, Caitlyn, Matthew, Courtney, Molly, John, Justin, and Josh; eight step-grandchildren, whom she adored from afar; her nephews, niece, and much-loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and chosen family members who made her 57 years so special.

Relying on others was never easy for Chel, and she often said, "Sorry, not sorry," with a smile. She was grateful for all her experiences, even the challenging ones. She felt deeply appreciative of her colleagues at PwC, whose kindness and love uplifted her throughout her journey.

Chel will be deeply missed. In her honor, embrace adventure, enjoy fireworks, take walks, and find the things that bring you joy and contentment. Spend time with those who bring you peace and laughter, seek therapy when needed, and focus on what you can control, letting the rest go.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance: https://ocrahope.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/make-a-donation/ or to a mental health cause of your choice.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, January 24th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St W, Bradenton, FL, with a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 25th, at Mission Valley Golf & Country Club, 1851 Mission Valley Blvd, Nokomis, FL.

I wish the Mohan family the very best in 2025 and onward. Michele and I worked together and during that time I learned a lot from her and also discovered she had Indiana ties. She was always very responsive when I had a question and needed help. At one memorable work conference, we had the opportunity to giggle as we attempted to ward off someone who was trying to take our participants' conference SWAG. Michele was so kind to the individual while I called security. Another time, our flights were delayed during very bad weather, and we had a chance to sit together in the airport. She was funny and smart enough to have snacks, so we had something to eat. I will miss her intelligence, drive and kindness. She is missed by me and so many others. Thank you for sharing her with us.
