Nicholas "Nick" Pagnotta
March 27, 1975 - October 21, 2021
Bradenton, Florida - Nicholas "Nick" Pagnotta, 46, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, with his wife and family by his side at Tampa General Hospital after a month-long battle from the effects of COVID. Nick was born March 27, 1975, in Queens, New York, to the late Gerald Pagnotta and Grace Hipp (Tomeo). In 1986, at the age of 11, Nick, his sister Jennifer and their mother, followed family, his uncle, Dr. Charles Tomeo and his aunt Ruth, to Bradenton, FL. Nick quickly became part of this extended family and a fixture of West Bradenton. Nick's beloved Manatee Wildcats was organized that same year as he and his cousin Charles, suited up to play that inaugural season. Nick's childhood in Bradenton and his football playing career, came to a storied and historic end as he was a key member of Manatee High School's 1992 State Championship Football Team. After graduating from Manatee High School, Nick attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree that he completed in 1999. Nick's professional career eventually returned him back to Bradenton where he met his beautiful wife, Becky. Nick and Becky got married in 2006 and over the next 17 years together, built a wonderful life around their 4 sons, Justin, Ryan, Nicholas and Preston. Everyone that knows Nick and Becky, know that they live for their boys and their family in all that they do. Along with running multiple businesses and raising a family, Nick's heart and love of others overflowed into the service he poured into his community through coaching. Before Nick ever had a son on any team, Nick was back with Dr. Tomeo on the sideline coaching kids at the Manatee Wildcats. He would later be asked to coach at Manatee High School where he would witness another State Championship in 2011. As Nick's younger boys became football age, Nick found himself back at the Manatee Wildcats where he would take over as President and oversee the program and the addition of Boys and Girls Lacrosse. For the thousands of players and families that he impacted, he is affectionately known to most as Coach Nick. Nick loved people in a deeper and more meaningful way than could ever be expressed through words. He was truly devoted to his family and friends. If Nick Pagnotta loved you, you knew it and that knowledge was extremely comforting. Nick is leaving behind a legacy of devoted family that includes his wife, Becky; their sons, Justin, Ryan, Nicholas and Preston; his sister, Jennifer Ardizone and family; the Tomeo's, the Morabito's and many, too many more to name. Nick's impact and love will be felt for generations to come. There will never be another Coach Nick. Nick Pagnotta, and his love, was truly one of a kind. Visitation will be 1:00PM-5:00PM, Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. I am a better person for knowing Nick. He was such a kind, considerate, generous, thoughtful friend. He was always there to support anyone in view, from his players he coached, to the parents he mentored, to the officials he encouraged. I admired Nick as a man and was blessed to call him a friend. Love, prayers and comfort to his family and to all that were touched by Nick's kindness.

So incredibly sad to hear of Nicks passing. I have many great childhood memories growing up in The Oaks, hanging with Nick, Jennifer, Grace and all of his extended family. Although it’s been many years since I saw Nick, I know the incredible impact he made on so many lives as well as the entire community. He will be greatly missed, sending love and strength to all ❤

Nick was a wonderful person. We did not know Nick as well as so many, but he left a lasting impression. While in high school our daughter, Kelly, babysat for he and Becky's two boys. He was the epitome of kind and such a doting Dad. We are so saddened that Bradenton and the world lost such a great man.

Coach Brown coached Nick at MHS. Nick was on the `92 MHS football team that won state!!! I remember it well. We all attended with Memaw, Claire Walz, because John Walz was on that state team too. John Went on to marry Downey Summer who ended up working with Nick (Wildcats) for years... and still does with Memaw, Bowen, Carl , Margie all coaching with Nick. Nick has been an integral part of all our lives and it will be hard to be without him. Grateful for our faith in God and that we will see Coach Nick again. Becky and boys... we are here for you. Our heart aches for you. We loved him and will honor him through our continued support of all he held dear.

When I think of Nick, one of my favorite images is Nick walking through their house with Carmine in his big leather chair, looking over his shoulder toward the boy. Clasping his hands together, his eyes twinkling, Carmine would say, "Oh, that Nick! He's quite a kid. I'm so proud of him I don't know what to do." Well, we all need to rest easy, because, once again, Carmine will be looking out for Nick. And Grace and his dad will be doing just the same. How grateful we all are that we shared Nick in friendship, watching our kids grow up together. May God wrap his loving arms around each of Nick's friends and family as we face tough days ahead. It's now time to rely on faith, family and friends.....
