Paul Hunsader Obituary

83, of Bradenton passed gently in his sleep on November 6, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Paul was born on September 4, 1932 in the small town of Alaska, WI. At a young age, his family moved to Manitowoc where he and two of his brothers operated a dairy business. Paul married Jan Smith in 1960. Together they had four children, Steven, Eric, Cindy, and Peter. In 1967, the three Hunsader families moved to Bradenton and formed ''Hunsader Bros. Inc.'', a commercial tomato business, until Paul retired in 1990. During their 55 years of marriage, Paul and Jan traveled extensively all over the world, visiting many beautiful places, making a lifetime of memories. Paul was very instrumental in the renovation of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the addition of the choir room. He sang in the St. Joseph Choir and the Barbershop Quartet for many years. He loved singing. In his later years, he found enjoyment in supplying vegetables to the Soup Kitchen and anyone he met! He was well known in the community for his big heart, generosity, and his constant smile. If you ever needed anything, Paul would find it for you. He also played tennis and table tennis. Paul is survived by his two sisters, Madonna and Lenore; his loving wife, Jan; his children, Steven (Patti), Eric (Tiffany), Cindy (Tom), and Peter. He adored his 10 grandchildren. The family will receive guests in the St. Joseph Chapel at 9:00AM Saturday, Nov 14, 2015. His Memorial Service Celebrating his Life will follow at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton. Please park in the South parking lot. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel is in charge. In lieu of flowers, send donations to ''Our Daily Bread'' or your favorite charity. My Uncle Paul always had a smile on his face, and every time I saw him, I also left with a smile. One of the last times I saw him, he asked me if I was happy. It now reminds me to live life to the fullest, just like he did! Dan and I will miss him!

Jan,
My heart & thoughts have been with you this week. I was unable to attend the service, but I have fond memories of the effervescent Paul and his beautiful eyes. What a wonderful person and he was so lucky to have you! Great legacy he has given to Manatee County.
God bless, Kris

So sorry for your loss. As each day passes reflect on the love you had and the times spent creating memories, until you can make new ones when you see Paul again. John 5 : 28 says, " Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, and verses 29 says and come out. "

Grandpa... we will miss you in so many ways that words cannot define them. You lived life like no other! The amazing Gift you had in seeing the good in everyone & everything - your selflessness in giving & sharing touched everyone that came across your path in this life. I'm lucky to have known you, proud to call you a friend & my #1 mentor, and very blessed that you gave me your "OK" to marry your Daughter. While I write this in tears, I am also smiling and laughing just thinking of any/all of the amazing times we shared together. As you said so well numerous times to everyone: "The BEST two things I ever did in my life, were to marry Jan and move to Florida..."
RIP Grandpa... (Yes, I'm on it, and have "it" covered~)
