Phyllis Powers Obituary

91, Bradenton, died Saturday, February 11, 2017. Phyllis was born January 3, 1926 in Mitchell, IN. and came to Bradenton in 1989 from Canton, OH. A graduate of Miami University in Ohio, a member of Kapa Kappa Gamma, Ye Merrie Players, Alpha Epsilon Phi (Radio Honorary). Phyllis was employed by May Dept. stores in Canton, OH., was an active supporter of Canton Ballet, and a member of El Conquistador Country Club in Bradenton. Preceded in death by her first husband, Ben Keane, and second husband, Alvan Powers. Survivors include sons Christopher Keane of Wilmington, DE., Greg Keane of Edina, MN. and David Keane of Omaha, NE., and daughters Carol Mayer of Highlands Ranch, CO. and Ann Keane of Grosse Ill, MI., 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service was held in private by her family. Our mom filled our lives with love, laughter, poetry and song. Her joie de vivre was felt by all who knew her. Her mind is free, and the party is going full blast in Heaven! Memorial donations made to Westminster Presbyterian Church at 3011 19th Ave. West, Bradenton, FL., 34205, or Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St W., Bradenton, FL., 34205 would be greatly appreciated.
