Richard L. Hansen Obituary

November 7, 1950 - January 26, 2026

Parrish, Florida - Richard L. Hansen, 75, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. A longtime resident of Parrish, Florida, Rick faced a multi-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis with quiet strength, courage and dignity, qualities that defined not only his final chapter, but his entire life.

Born November 7, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to Edward and Mary Jean Hansen, Rick grew into a man guided by service, discipline, and deep loyalty to his family and country. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathleen.

Rick proudly served in the Vietnam War before completing his college degree and building a career rooted in leadership and problem-solving. He returned to the United States Air Force as an officer, where he continued his commitment to service. In civilian life, he brought the same integrity and work ethic to his professional endeavors, leading multiple organizations across the country, and later founding his own company.

Above all else, Rick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Anita Hansen; his daughter, Christina Hansen, and her children and grandchild, Cameron, Emily, and Ella; his son, Matthew Hansen, his wife Amy, and their children, Alayna and Sophie; as well as his brothers, James Hansen and Thomas Hansen, and their families.

Rick will be remembered for his steady presence, his sense of responsibility and the quiet way he showed up for those he loved.
