Robert L. Killock

of Palmetto, FL, formerly of South Dayton, NY, passed away on March 11, 2014, due to complications caused by cancer. Bob was born on June 12, 1938 to William and Harriet Killock. A 1956 graduate of Pine Valley Central School and served his country in the USMC. He married Patricia Babcock in 1961. He is survived by his wife, 2 children: Kimberly (Rick) Gibson and Rob (Kimberlee) Killock; 5 grandchildren: Nate & Kaylea Gibson; Laural, Kaytlyn and Brett Killock; a niece, 4 nephews, Aunt Betty Jean Troutman and many cousins.Bob retired as Superintendent of the Nestle's/Carnation Company. He served as Trustee and Mayor of the Village of South Dayton for 18 years, and past president of the WNY Village Mayor's Association. He was a member, past Commander and County Adjutant of the American Legion, South Dayton Post 1593; member of VFW Post 255 in Cherry Creek; member of the Moose Lodge 2117 in Palmetto; a life member of the SD Fire Department and member of the SD UMC.Bob was an avid golfer and a former Director of Tri-County Country Club. He served as President and Board Director of Leisure Lake Co-Op in Palmetto. Bob enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, hunting with his kids, coaching his son's various sports teams and spending time with family and friends from all over the world.There will be a celebration of Bob's life on Sunday, March16th from 2 to 4 pm at the Leisure Lake Clubhouse, in Palmetto. A celebration of his life will be held on a later date in NY.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to Moffitt Cancer Center at moffitt.org.
