Verna Korchma Obituary

Verna Irene (Tatro) Korchma, 81, Bristol, CT, entered into eternal peace on Sunday, November 11, 2012, after a courageous battle with ill health. She was born July 28th, 1931 in Eden Mills, VT, the daughter of Roger G. & Mildred T. Tatro. Verna was an active member of countless fund raising committees, earning Elk Lady of the year from the Florida Ladies of ELKS, Palmetto 2449. She was also Queen Mother of the Palmetto Belles of the Red Hat Society. She was married to Ernest A. Korchma for 51 years where they lived and worked in Bristol and South Windsor, CT before moving to Palmetto in 1987. They both enjoyed traveling and living their lives in FL. Verna was a special, beautiful women, who loved her family and great friends deeply. She is survived by a son Murray E. Korchma and his wife Ellen of Bristol CT; her daughter, Vicki Korchma Fleming of Brandon, Fla.; three grandchildren, Megan Bushy of Bradenton; Kory Korchma of Bristol, CT; Zachary Fleming of Valrcio, FL; great grandchildren Nathan Bivins and Janae Papotto. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Korchma, daughter Terry K. Bushy and grandson Jaydon S. Papotto, four sisters, Thelma Rossier, Marion Lanpher, Ruth Cyr and Bettie Ricker and three brothers, Merril, Wayland and Lynford Tatro
