William Nye Obituary
William (Bill) Christopher Nye, 55, of Bradenton, Fla., passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. Bill was born in Boston, MA on February 24, 1962 and spent most of his life in Brockton, MA before relocating to Bradenton, FL in 2005. He worked for the United States Postal Office for 33 years. Bill was an avid sports fan loving the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and the Boston Celtics. Bill loved to golf and ride. He was a dedicated father and grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to anyone who knew him.
Bill is survived by the mother of his children, Susan Cochrane Nye, his son, William Nye of Attleboro, MA, son, Andrew Nye of Bradenton, FL, daughter, Kristin Rakauskas of Brockton, MA and 9 beautiful grandchildren, Jordan Cochrane, Robert, Trust, Mariah, Victoria Rakauskas, Aiden, Brielle Nye, Jose Bruno and Lil Billy Nye, mother, Barbara Nye Holland of Bradenton FL, brothers, Thomas of Kannapolis NC, Richard of Whitman, MA and John of Bradenton FL, sister, Cynthia Nye Kalligher of Bradenton FL, and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind many friends all of which he considered to be an extension of his family.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at Bayshore Baptist Church, 6502 14th St W in Bradenton, FL at 6:00pm.

That photo is "Little" Billy and me "Uncle Jimmy" in my mother's bedroom.
I remember when he was born, and his father was on the phone with the hospital at my mother's house. When they told him that he had a son, his eyes welled up with tears.

Bill, we've known each other for many years through the highs and lows of both our lives. Even though distance separated us we still managed to find time to talk. Billy our paths crossed a moment in our teens. So many of us remember your dad's dedication for Brookfield Little league. And as a teenager and a friend, for sure a man you could count on.

My first nephew. I remember the night he was born, and when I saw tears of joy in his Dad's eyes when he got the news he had a boy!
His first car was my 73 Audi 100 LS. I think it didn't last too long. (Sorry Billy)
