Beverly Wacker Obituary

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Beverly "Bev" Hoffman Wacker, devoted wife, mother of four, grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of four and friend to all, passed away peacefully April 16, 2025, at the age of 80.
While we feel a tremendous void, Heaven gained one of the friendliest souls you could have hoped to meet.
Bev was born March 11, 1945, to Martin and Eliza Hoffman in Bradford, Pa. She absolutely adored her parents and deeply loved her dynamic siblings, Catherine, Joe, Darlene and Dave.
Bev married the love of her life, Edward Wacker, on June 18, 1966, in Bradford and within six years they had four children, Rochelle, Eric, Marty and Wendy.
Longing for a better life and a sense of adventure, the six Wackers boarded their 1967 station wagon and headed west. Upon arrival in Grand Junction, husband Ed hustled to find work while Beverly looked after the four young and wiley Wacker kids. Adventure indeed was abundant!
Beverly worked with a few employers but a couple of her true callings were playground attendant at Orchard Avenue Elementary and Girl Scout leader. Her love was so powerful that nearly 50 years later, some of those playground kids, along with a vast array of community members, recently attended Beverly's (aka Mrs. Wacker) 80th Birthday party.
All who met Beverly were certain to remember her. Noone was a stranger. She knew dozens of the grocery clerks, bank tellers, general store workers, medical staff, their siblings, their cousins, their second cousins, etc. Beverly was highly emotionally driven, seeking to meaningfully connect and bring happiness to everyone she met.
Upon meeting someone, she quickly ascertained their favorite baked treat. Beverly was a fabulous baker and candymaker and blessed nearly everyone she met with a variety of homemade treats. Cookies of all sorts, cupcakes, wedding mints (enjoyed at many weddings and always free of charge, of course) and penuche fudge were some of those blessings she frequently gifted, often to complete strangers.
Beverly (aka Grammie, G-ga, G-ma, Brahma, Aunt Bee Bee, Queeny) was a master of creating memorable holidays. Her Christmas stocking stuffers, Easter baskets and Egg hunts, special spaghetti with heavenly hand-rolled meatballs, and homemade birthday cakes warmed the soul.
We miss her greatly and will forever carry Beverly's love in our hearts.
Beverly's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. May 9, 2025, at Callahan Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction.

So saddened to hear of Beverly's passing. In her teens she and my late sister Janice were close friends. I will always remember her bubbly personality, sweet disposition and how she would always make us laugh. Deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Beverly was a sweet soul who was very generous with all she had. She showed me how to can tomato´s and I will never forget how scrumptious her famous spaghetti was with her homemade meatballs. Her love for baking and cooking was passed on to my daughter who will carry that forward, and we are so blessed by this along with many other talents and sweetness she blessed us with. Thank you for being a wonderful grandma to my children, Beverly. Your presence will be missed. I look forward to seeing that wonderful smile and laugh again one day.
