Bonnie Fragman Obituary

LAKE RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - Bonnie Jean Kreinson Fragman of Queens passed away peacefully Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Brookhaven, Long Island, from natural causes after a six-year battle with dementia.
Even though dementia took her voice and her body, her spirit remained to the very end. A spirit as vibrant and boundless as the city she called home and the far-flung corners of the world she explored.
Bonnie's story began in Bradford, Pa., as the eldest of two daughters of Blanche and David Kreinson (owner and editor of the Bradford Journal newspaper). Even in her earliest years, it was clear that she was meant for more than just a quiet life in a small town. With wit, warmth and an unmistakable spark, Bonnie moved through the world with both confidence and curiosity.
Already showing signs of the storyteller she would become, she pursued journalism at Syracuse University. Her early career at a newspaper in Binghamton, N.Y., laid the groundwork, but Bonnie's heart was always drawn to bigger horizons. She found her calling in travel - working with agencies to craft the stories of cities and landscapes for others to discover. She didn't just write about the world; she lived it. Whether strolling the boulevards of Paris, navigating the souks of Marrakech, or sipping espresso in a quiet Roman piazza, Bonnie brought elegance, humor and a keen eye wherever she went.
When she finally chose a place to call home, it was New York City - a place as dynamic and unapologetic as Bonnie herself. There she surrounded herself with art, culture and the pulse of life. A quintessential New Yorker, Bonnie was never without a story, a restaurant recommendation, a new Broadway show review or a sharp piece of insight delivered with her signature charm.
She was more than just an adventurer and writer. Bonnie was a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend. She adored her family, and that love was returned in kind. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Jill (Kreinson) Killorin; two nephews and their families; and three stepdaughters and their families. She was proud of them all, always eager to share stories of their lives with the same enthusiasm she reserved for tales of her travels.
Bonnie's smile - wide, warm and impossible to forget - had the power to light up a room. Her generosity, thoughtfulness and unshakable sense of self left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.
But no matter how far she traveled, she always carried Pennsylvania with her. So, today, she rests alongside her parents in Willow Dale Cemetery in Bradford. But her legacy - of adventure, elegance, laughter and love - lives on in each of us. May we carry her spirit forward, traveling boldly, speaking truthfully and living fully - just as she did.
Rest in peace, Bonnie. You were truly one of a kind.

The Kreinson family lived next door to us on Walker Avenue in Bradford when I was very small. Bonnie and Jill were so kind to me-I remember them taking me trick or treating. I thought they were just wonderful. Sounds like Bonnie lived a marvelous life. My sympathy to Jill and to all of Bonnie´s family.

Bonnie was one of my middle school and high school friends. The first one I remember having boy and girl parties on constitution Avenue. She was gregarious and fun and more outgoing than anyone I knew! Smart and active in our yearbook production. Never shy!!! We always planned a get together since I´m an hour from nyc but never did. She was a force for good!
