Craig Byham  Obituary

SPENCERPORT, N.Y. - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Craig Robert Byham, 80, on Monday (Feb. 9, 2026).
Born in Bradford, Pa., on April 30, 1945, he graduated from Bradford High School in 1963. Craig was a devoted husband to the true love of his life, and an adoring, beloved father and grandfather to his children and grandsons.
Craig was predeceased by his mother, Lucille; his father, Robert; and a brother-in-law, Ted Barrett.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Patricia; daughter, Tracey (Gil) Crespo; son, Matthew (Laura) Byham; grandsons, Jacob and Carter Byham; sister, Carol Barrett; nephews, Jeff Barrett, Doug (Kim) Barrett and Sean Barrett; and niece, Amy (Jim) Sage.
Craig was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served our country in Vietnam and at home in the U.S. He was a loving husband, the most incredible father and grandfather, and, to those who knew him, a friend whose compassion knew no bounds. After Craig's retirement from a long career in the food industry, you could find him enjoying time on the golf course, tending to his vastly landscaped yard that brought him so much joy, or driving around in his "little red Corvette." Craig's greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his grandsons grow into remarkable young men.
Craig was a steadfast friend to all who knew him and he was jokingly referred to as the "mayor" of the village he lived in. A lifelong sunshine chaser, Craig and Patricia found their happy place near the ocean, first in family vacations to Myrtle Beach and then later in life with annual trips to Aruba - which filled him with unforgettable memories thanks to all the friends made there over the years.
Above all else, Craig lived life full of love. His smile, humor and the memory of the truly wonderful man he was, will live on with us throughout time unending.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Brothers Funeral Home in Spencerport on his birthday, Thursday, April 30, 2026. A private burial will take place Friday, May 1, 2026, at Western New York National Cemetery with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Golisano Children's Hospital or one of the many foundations that supports Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) - a large group of horrific and still irreversible diseases - which Craig so courageously fought with unparalleled determination and strength.
