David Platko Obituary
He was the son of Barbara McGavisk Platko of Smethport, Pa. and the late Paul Andrew Platko.
Dave was a 1981 graduate of Smethport Area Jr. & Sr. High School. He was a carpenter by trade who enjoyed the many aspects that his trade encompassed.
Surviving in addition to his wife Christina and mother Barbara is a daughter, Kelsey (Kellen) Hughes of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, John (Berni) Platko of Rock Hill, S.C., Thomas (Michele) Platko of New Port Richey, Fla. and Dennis (Patti) Platko of Cyclone, Pa.; one sister, Susan (Michael) Alfieri of Smethport, Pa.; and two granddaughters Hannah and Bryleigh; along with countless other family members and friends who will forever remember his spirit.
Dave lived life every day to the fullest with his booming voice, contagious laugh and sometimes inappropriate jokes. He loved to golf, putz around in his garage, grill, work and relax outside, but most of all he loved to hang out with his wife, daughter and son in law, and visit his family and friends in Smethport, Pa. David loved a good party, but most of all he just enjoyed having everybody he loved and cared about surrounding him. Unlike many people, David was able to keep his positive attitude during his countless treatments and procedures over the past couple of years. He was always able to make his family and friends laugh without even trying, unless you were one of the few on the receiving end of his giant middle finger. His sense of humor was unlike any other, and he will be greatly missed by everybody who was lucky enough to have crossed paths with him.
A celebration of life will be determined and will be communicated to family and close friends.
Memorials can be made to Harris Hospice of Novant Health Foundation in Charlotte, N.C.
