Florence Zylinski Obituary
SMETHPORT - Florence M. Zylinski, 92, of Betula, passed away Friday (Feb. 18, 2022) at Lakeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Smethport.
She was born April 19, 1929 in Weehawken, N.J., a daughter of Stephen and Mary Guth Hurban. On Sept. 29, 1950, in Guttenberg, N.J., she married William Zylinski, Jr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2010.
Florence graduated from West NY Memorial High School in 1946. She had worked as a secretary for a brief period of time before she was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family.
Florence was a member of the American Legion, John Berg Post #976 Auxiliary of Crosby, St. Elizabeth Church of Smethport, RSVP of McKean County and the Smethport Senior Center.
She is survived by three sons, William S. (Vicki) Zylinski of Buffalo, N.Y., Paul M. (Glenda) Zylinski of Pasco, Wash. and Roy J. (Gwen) Zylinski of Smethport; four grandchildren, Megan (Mark) Zylinski, William Zylinski, Anthony (Jessica) Zylinski and Nathan Zylinski; and three great grandchildren, Noah, Emma and Ellie.
In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by a son at birth and one brother, Stephen P. Hurban, Jr.
There will be no visitation. A Blessing Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed. Feb. 23, 2022, from the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., Smethport, with the Rev. Joseph Daugherty, officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Smethport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Florence's name may be made to the American Legion, John Berg Post #976 Auxiliary of Crosby or to the DAV McKean County Chapter #72, P.O. Box 645 Kane, PA 16735. Online condolences may be made at www.hartle-tarboxfuneralhomes.com.
