Gilbert York Obituary

ELDRED - Gilbert E. York of Eldred Road passed away Thursday (April 24, 2025).
Gilbert was born April 1, 1951, in Canton, N.Y., and was a son of James O. and Mildred I. Hennigan York.
On Feb. 13, 1971, in Canton, he married Sharon M. Milliron, who survives. Gilbert was a 1970 graduate of Canton High School. He drove trucks for about 10 years. Gilbert enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, Gilbert is survived by his three sons, Shannon M. (Terri) York of Rixford, Brian C. York of Eldred and Kerry A. ""Buddha"" (Sharon) York of Eldred; four siblings; nine grandchildren, Allen York, Spryce York, Jared McAndrew, Allison Horne, Derek McAndrew, Brooke York, Nick York, Tryston York and Noah York; and eight great-grandchildren. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents and a brother.
Per Gilbert's request, there will be no services held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eldred World War II Museum, 201 Main St., Eldred, PA 16731.
