Gloria Swanson Obituary
Born July 6, 1927, in Kane, she was the daughter of Louis and Sarah Heasley Gerhart. On July 30, 1949, in Clarion, she married Stanley L. Swanson, who died in 2009.
Gloria had worked at the Resistor Plant at Stackpole Corp. in Kane for 25 years. Later, she worked for and became manager of Widman's for several years, and also worked at Roma Gardens, both in Kane.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kane, where she belonged to the King's Daughters.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan C. Swanson of Kane, Linda M. Krantz of Chicago, Ill., and Martha A. Hernandez of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; two sons, Michael S. Swanson of Kane and Martin P. Swanson of Girard; two sisters, Pearl "Sis" Benson and Nina "Janie" Read, both of Kane; and three brothers, Robert Gerhart and Francis "Manny" Gerhart, both of Kane, and John Edward Gerhart in California. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are four brothers; and a sister.
Friends may at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home Inc. in Kane on Friday from noon to 1 p.m., at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. David Pflieger, chaplain of The Lutheran Home at Kane, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 257; or to The Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Drive, both in Kane, PA 16735.

Mom so much has happened these past years but missing you hasn´t changed. Thank you for being the wonderful loving person you were. We were so blessed to have you for our Mom. I miss you dearly and think of you so often.

So sorry to hear of Gloria's passing. She was a fireball. I worked for her at Widmann's and will always remember her fondly. My condolences to the family
