Grace Scott Obituary

EMPORIUM - Grace A. Scott, 87, of 418 E Allegany Ave., Emporium, died at her residence Friday (Feb. 26, 2016) evening following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Emporium, a daughter of Domenico and Rose Policastro Tartaglia.
She married the late Sam Scott.
Grace enjoyed playing bingo and cards at the senior center, going to the casino, relaxing on her porch, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Glenn) Anderson of St. Marys and Samina Scott of Emporium; two grandchildren, Brent (Karen) Anderson of Charlotte, N.C., and Paige Scott of Emporium; one sister, Roseann (Jack) Taylor of Lady Lake, Fla.; and two brothers, Edward "Junior" Tartaglia of Emporium and Robert (Letty) Tartaglia of Lady Lake, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Domenico and Rose Policastro Tartaglia; her husband, Sam Scott; four sisters, Jane York, Caroline Tartaglia, Helen House and Sylvia Ives; and three brothers: Joseph, Daniel and Lawrence Tartaglia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Barnett Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 E. Fourth St., Emporium, with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emporium Senior Center, 213-1/2 South Maple Street, Emporium, PA 15834.

Dear Susan and Samina, no one can really find the right words. I will forever miss your mom. She was such a huge part of our family. We will never be the same without her. I loved her very much. Always, Cheryl Rose.
