Hugh Rich Obituary
Born in Bradford, the son of the late Hugh and Margaret O'Connell Rich Sr.
On Dec. 30, 1950 he married Dolores Murphy of Bradford, who passed away in 1997. On June 14, 2003 in Kane he married June Jack, who survives.
Mr. Rich served in the Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was the owner of Richgas in Kane and also Nugas in Bradford.
He was an active member of the Kane Rotary and also a member of the Pennsylvania Propane Gas Association, St. Callistus Church, the Kane Elks Club, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 489 in Ludlow. He was a past Township Supervisor for Hamilton Township and he was also an EMT. He had attended college at Penn State, the University of Pittsburgh and St. Bonaventure, graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Tom (Laura) Rich Sr. of Kane, Rian Rich of Kane, Hugh (Betsy) Rich of Kane and Mike (Brenda Clear) of Kane; three daughters, Julianne Chittester of Kane, Annemarie Woodruff of Smethport and Mary Ellen (Gary Anderson) Sicher of Kane; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; one son-in-law, Hank Feikls of Ludlow; and two sisters, Martha Hipchen of Chicago, Ill. and Ann Mongillo of Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Dolores Rich; one son ,Robert Rich; one daughter, Kathleen Feikls; one sister Elizabeth Zetts; and two brothers Tom Rich and William Rich.
Friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Gathering Space at St. Callistus Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William O'brien as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Callistus Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ludlow Volunteer Fire Dept.

Heaven called back an Angel!
Uncle Bud, I always admired your kindness, sensitivity, and intelligence - truly a wonderful man and leader. I see how these gifts of yours have been passed down through the generations. It´s remarkable to witness and I´m thankful to have received your family´s kindness.

Dear Friends, I was so saddened to hear of Bud's passing. He was such a wonderful man with a generous spirit. I appreciated his kindness (and from all of you as well) toward my son Adam Baldwin when he worked at Richgas. Bud was an icon in the town of Kane and will truly be missed. I am very saddened to hear of Bud's passing. He was a wonderful man that worked hard. Always concerned about others. Adored his large family. Loved him like my own grandfather. Appreciated our friendship through dentistry for the last 22 years. Rest easy in Heaven my friend. Spend time with all those you lost before the rest of us reunite with Jesus.
