James Shahan Obituary

James Shahan LUBBOCK- James Earl Shahan was born on Sept. 9, 1949 and was called home on Aug. 10, 2013. Jimmy was born in Dublin, Texas, but lived a number of places. He most recently lived Quanah, Texas, although, Gold Beach, Ore. was his favorite. Jimmy graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1968. He served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1979. He also served as a United States Merchant Marine in the 1980's. Jimmy graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in 1992 and was a member of Delta Sigma Chi fraternity. Jimmy passed away peacefully in the arms of his children, Siobhan and Zebulon, his most cherished friend and wife, Janie, and his mother in law, Ms. Mary Garcia. Jimmy also leaves behind his best friend and companion, his beloved pit bull, Bo, as well as a grand puppy, Pistol Annie. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Lee Shahan; brother, Gary Shahan; and sister, Adah Bryer. Jimmy's family would like to express their most sincere thanks to Mike Ross, PA, Bubba Thomas, the nursing staff at the Hardeman County Hospital, Apollo Air, Dr. Michael McPherson, the UMC ER nursing staff, Dr. Felton, Dr. Tommie Farrell and the wonderful nurses that were by his side at UMC, Tara, Krystal, Julianna, and Kayla. A memorial service will be held in Jimmy's honor at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 in Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, Texas.
