Joseph DePetro Obituary

Joseph DePetro
MASON, Ohio - Joseph John "Joe" or "Butch" DePetro, 61, died Sunday (April 14, 2013).
Born May 2, 1951, in Bradford, Pa., he was a son of Frank and Anna DePetro. He was the baby in a family of three sisters. For 34 years, he was married to Shonda Eller DePetro, who survives.
He graduated from Bradford Central Christian High School and Pittsburgh University, where he earned his degree in history. Rather than teach history, he spent the last 40 years working with city and state water municipalities. He was most recently employed at Chesley Associates of Cincinnati.
An avid football fan since high school, Joe will always be remembered as "Coach DePetro" to a multitude of youngsters from the St. Susanna's football program and as an avid fan at numerous Moeller High school games in which his three sons participated. Joe will also be missed as the "smiling" usher at St. Susanna's Catholic Church services.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three outstanding sons, Joseph "Joe" John DePetro Jr., of Royal Oak, Mich., Matthew James DePetro of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Andrew Charles (Celestina) DePetro of Nicosia, Cyprus; and two beloved grandchildren, Tamara Francesca and Maximus DePetro of Nicosia, Cyprus; two sisters, Sr. Josephine DePetro of Erie, Pa., and Mary Lou Graham who resides in Stockton, Calif.; and a multitude of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Lewis Run, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be said.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bradford Central Christian High School/St. Bernard High School.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mueller Funeral Home.

Joe was one of those people that upon entering a room you just knew the conversation was going to get better, the mood would be lighter, and everyone would be happier because of his presence. He was an outstanding sales professional and I'm proud to have had him as part of my extended sales team.
