Joyce Armstrong Roggenbaum
Joyce Roggenbaum Obituary
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Roggenbaum Jr., whom she married in 1948. She attended Nyack Collage in Nyack, N.Y., and was employed at Penn State University for 23 years.
She is survived by her three children, Daniel (Nancy) Roggenbaum of Jackson; Stephen Roggenbaum of Lutz, Fla.; and Deborah Roggenbaum of New Holland, Pa.; her two grandchildren, Nathan (Kim Koeman) Roggenbaum of Holland and Leah (David) McMullin of Bend, Ore.; three great-grandchildren: Abel, Mari and Wren Roggenbaum; brother, the Rev. James (Connie) Armstrong of League City, Texas; nieces Julie (Jerry) Rowlands of League City, Kim (Steve) Wood of El Segundo, Calif., and Lisa (Ty) VanHorn of Spring, Texas; nephews Peter (Marty) Roggenbaum of Apollo Beach, Fla., Joseph (Sue) Roggenbaum of Jacobus, Pa.; Roger (Fran) Roggenbaum of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; and Gary (Paula) Roggenbaum of Douglasville, Pa.
Joyce enjoyed buying and selling antiques and had an associated business for several years. She had a flair for decorating, enjoyed entertaining and loved planning festive parties. Joyce loved spending time with her family and always made the occasions special. Following in her mother's footsteps, she was a prayer warrior for her family and many others as needs arose. She was a member of Light and Life Free Methodist Church in Lakeland, Fla., where she spent many winters.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2026) at Watson Funeral Chapel, 2590 Spring Arbor Road, with a graveside service immediately following at Spring Arbor Cemetery, Spring Arbor. A memorial service will be held at Jackson Free Methodist Church sometime in May 2026.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, or samaritanspurse.org.
