Julia Hayes Obituary

Julia W. Hayes, 85, of Bradford passed away Wednesday (July 9, 2025) surrounded by her loving family at The Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 19, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Owad Warzinski.
Julia was a 1957 graduate of Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, and she completed several business courses after high school.
On March 10, 1962, in Hartford, Conn., she married John W. Hayes Jr., who preceded her in death on May 3, 2018.
She worked as a secretary, in the healthcare field, as a sitter for homebound older people. She also volunteered for many organizations throughout her life.
Julia was a member of St. Bernard Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, writing notes or cards to loved ones, receiving correspondence, photography, word search puzzles, playing cards, water aerobics and socializing with others. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much, she enjoyed learning about their lives and spending time with them.
Surviving are one daughter, Jessica (Steven) Hervatin of Lewis Run; two sons, John W. (Claudia) Hayes III of Bad Schwalbach, Germany, and George M. (Laura) Hayes of Limestone, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Christopher (Kira) Hayes in Germany, Marc (Miriam) Hayes in Germany, Zachary (Samantha) Hayes of Limestone, Mackenzie (Dalton) Little of Bradford and Jered Hayes of Allegany, N.Y.; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph P. (Genevieve) Warzinski of Glen Burnie, Md.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, John, of 56 years, she was preceded in death by six siblings.
Family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Friday (July 18, 2025) at Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral services will follow with the Rev. John Jacquel, pastor of St. Bernard Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Peyton Kirk Scholarship or the Staff Sgt. Carl Enis Scholarship at the McKean County Community Foundation, P.O. Box 708, Bradford PA 16701. Or, possibly, you could just visit a shut-in, send a handwritten note to someone to lift up their spirits, check on a neighbor or friend, or lend a smile to a stranger exemplifying God's love for all.
