Marian Vorp Obituary

VENICE, Fla. - Marian T. Vorp, 77, of Venice, formerly of Ashville, N.Y., passed away Saturday (Feb. 6, 2016) after a valiant battle with an incurable illness.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1938 in Bradford, Pa., to Raymond and Genevieve Dwyer.
Marian enjoyed playing mahjong, socializing with her friends, the Gulf of Mexico, floating in the pool and doing for others. She had previously volunteered at Venice Hospital and served as a Home Bound Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter and Paul in Jamestown, N.Y.
She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1956, worked at IBM, United Refinery and the Teamster's Union until she retired.
Marian is survived by her husband, Robert F. Vorp of Venice, formerly of Ashville, N.Y.; a daughter, Ann Marie Holleran in Texas; a son, John Thomas Holleran in Tennessee; a sister, Mary Ellen Dwyer, SSJ, of Erie, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Robyn (Chuck) Citrin and Heidi (Charlie Coxson III) Coxson; stepson Brad (Laurie) Vorp. She is also survived by many loving cousins, family members and wonderful caring friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband G. Thomas Holleran of Ashville, formerly of Bradford; a sister, Sally Dwyer of Bradford and a brother, James R. Dwyer of Orchard Park, N.Y.
Donations are to be made per her wishes to Tidewell Hospice, Venice and to Our Lady of Lourdes Prayer Blanket Ministry in Venice.
A celebration of life will be with family at a later date.
