ELDRED - Michael F. "Sandy" Campbell, 68, of Slack Hollow Road, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 11, 2012) at his residence following an apparent heart attack.
Born May 17, 1944, in Olean, N.Y., he was a son of Andrew and Margaret Richey Campbell. On March 10, 1979, in the Eldred United Methodist Church, he married Donna Stuckey, who survives.
Sandy attended Otto-Eldred High School and later completed courses in refrigeration at BOCES in Olean.
Mr. Campbell served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1961 to 1964. He was employed for several years at Clark Brothers in Olean, and he worked for many years as a union carpenter in the area. For seven years prior to his retirement in 2006, he was employed as a framer at the Ethan Allen Furniture Co. in Eldred.
Sandy attended the Eldred United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 947 of Greater Pennsylvania for many years. He was also a member of the Northern Star Masonic Lodge #555 F & AM of Duke Center, as well as a member of the S.H.A.R.K.S.
He played and sang bluegrass and country music with his bands for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and rebuilding cars, tractors and trucks. He also enjoyed camping and caring for the wildlife around their home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Craig Campbell, Michael Campbell and Christopher (Scotty) Campbell; two daughters, Lisa (Kim) Corbin and Kim Campbell; two stepsons, Bernard (Lorie) Henning and Brian (Julie) Henning; one stepdaughter, Pastor Jackie Condon; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Betty (Tony) Fortushniok and Peggy (Fred) Gulick.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Dale Campbell; and two sisters, Maxine Remington and Nora Holland.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ron Emery and Mr. Campbell's stepdaughter, Pastor Jackie Condon, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Lamphier Cemetery, Eldred.
A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
