Patsy Morton Obituary

EMPORIUM - Patsy L. Morton, 82, of 3009 Rich Valley Road, Emporium, formerly of Sinnemahoning, died at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, on Sunday night (Dec. 22, 2013).
She was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Kittanning, a daughter of the late William and Goldie Learner Flanders. On Feb. 21, 1972, in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Emporium, she married Ronald Morton, who survives.
Mrs. Morton graduated from Kittanning High School in the Class of 1948. Patsy moved to Cameron County in 1951 and was a rural mail carrier for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Emporium and Smethport, where she was a 50-year Gold Star member. Patsy loved hunting and fishing, especially the fishing trips to Canada.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, William (Tracie) Young of South Carolina, Christopher (Brenda) Young of North Carolina and Jeffrey Young of Statesville, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Richard Young.
Visitation will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth St., Emporium, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Joseph Short, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery in Austin.
