Richard Riel Obituary
Richard A. Riel, Jr., 55, of Bradford, beloved son, brother and friend to many, passed away at his home on Sunday (Jan. 2, 2022).
Born on April 7, 1966 in Kane, he was a son of Linda Robison (Rex) Wright of Port Allegany and the late Richard A. Riel, Sr.
Out of school, Rick traveled with the Ringling Brothers Circus, and then went to work at Peter Pan Cannery in King Cove, AK and Melvin Thomas Picture Frame in White Plains, NY.
Rick enjoyed leek digging, fishing, 4wheeling, camping, hunting, shooting pool, spending time with friends & family and most definitely talking.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandmother, Florence Riel and maternal grandparents, Paul & Doris Robison.
He is survived by his mother, Linda; stepfather, Rex; brother, Tom (Janel) Riel of Bradford; sister, Katina (Dale) Phillips of Port Charlotte, FL; half-sister, Anita (Rigo) Martinez of Brandon, FL; niece, Marta Riel in California; his dog, Mijo and his cat, Taz. He is also survived by his close friends who were his surrogate family, Lisa McCartney, Megan McCartney and her son Axzaver McCartney, Cody McCartney, Sierra Jackson & Kendra Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc., with a memorial service to immediately follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Riel, pastor of the Pleasantville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Friends that are unable to attend are invited to watch a livestream of the service by following the link for the livestream on Rick's Tribute Wall page on the funeral home's website; which will be activated 10 minutes prior to the start of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rick's name to No Feline Left Behind-McKean County, P.O. Box 783, Bradford, PA 16701.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
