Robert Dickerson Obituary
He was born Feb. 4, 1935, in Warren, a son of Raymond and Lorena Schumann Dickerson. On Nov. 16, 1957, in Warren, he married Betty Holowell, who survives.
Mr. Dickerson was a graduate of Warren High School and had served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957.
He had worked for Walker's Dairy in Warren before coming to Smethport. He was a self-employed businessman, owning and operating JB Distributor of Smethport.
Mr. Dickerson was a member of Port Allegany Moose Lodge #460.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Julie (Allen) Talley of Hummelstown; three sons, Robert A. (Marilyn) Dickerson of Reedsville, Scott D. Dickerson of Smethport and Paul H. Dickerson of Oil City; two sisters, Joan Nosel of Warren and Anita (C. Russell) Johnson of Smethport; two brothers, Paul (Betty) Dickerson of Warren and Milton (Kay) Dickerson of Jay, N.Y.; grandchildren, Tatum and Dillon Talley; stepgreat-grandchild, Isaiah Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Lloyd and Herbert Dickerson; and two sisters, Lorena Dickerson and Sally Lampley.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, where funeral and committal services will be held at noon with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion, Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Smethport.
