Rosamond Blaski Obituary
ELDRED - Rosamond C. Blaski, 79, passed away on Wednesday (Aug. 30, 2017) in the Sena Kean Manor in Smethport after a three-year battle with cancer.
She was born on March 11, 1938, in Elkland, a daughter of Cletus and Nell Salisbury Cott. On Sept. 5, 1981, in Eldred, she married Donald Blaski, who passed away on Aug. 14, 1999.
Rose was a 1957 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and had resided in Duke Center, Warren and Russell before moving to Eldred in 1976. Along with her husband, she had owned and operated the American Awning and Insulation Company in Eldred.
Rose was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church and the Keystone Chapter No. 2 Order of the Eastern Star of Duke Center and the Lady Rebecca Lodge No. 526 of Eldred, and over the years had been active with the Eldred Area Lions Club. Rose had enjoyed her numerous trips to Florida with her husband, she also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
Rose will be dearly missed by her family and is survived by daughters from a previous marriage, Terri (Munir) Chavla of Washington, Pa., and Lana (Rodger) Tripp of Eldred; granddaughters, Aubrey Cook of Columbus, Ohio, Andrea (Mike) DeEmilio of Manassas, Va., Erica Austin of Eldred, Leah (husband Dave Cooper) Chavla of Washington, D.C., and Sidra Chavla of Pittsburgh; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are half brothers, Donald (Brenda) Clark of Rochester, N.Y., Carl (Jean) Clark of Lancaster, N.Y., and Dennis (Nancy) Clark of Arcade, N.Y., and a half sister, Laureen Clark of West Clarksville, N.Y.
She is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Alpha Husted (formerly of Eldred) who passed away on June 26, 2017.
Friends will be received today at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at which time the funeral service will be held with the Rev. Ernie Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Portville, N.Y.
