Steven Faes

SMETHPORT - Steven L. Faes, 74, of Crosby passed away Monday (Nov. 3, 2025) at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 17, 1951, in Port Allegany, the son of Lawrence "Cino" and Elizabeth "Betty" Ross Faes. On Sept. 6, 1974, at St. Elizabeth Church, he married Bonnie M. Dille, who survives.
Steve was a 1969 graduate of Smethport Area High School.
He was a shift supervisor employed by International Waxes Inc. of Farmers Valley, retiring in 2007.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the NRA, Eldred Conservation Club and Keating Sportsman's Club.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, he is survived by two sons, Chad S. (Carla) Faes of Chula Vista, Calif., and Cullen G. (Shannon) Faes of Crosby; grandchildren Danny, Torin, Katie, Ashley, Jaxon and Madi; and one brother, Lee (Birdie) Faes of Crosby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 11, 2025) at Hilltop Baptist Church in Gifford, where a memorial service will immediately follow with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or a charity of the donor's choice.
