Tina Kowlsen Obituary

WAYNESBORO, Va. - Tina Marie Kowlsen, 67, of Fishersville, formerly of Bradford, Pa., passed away unexpectedly Thursday (Jan. 9, 2025).
Tina was born April 1, 1957, daughter of the late John Anthony Maggio and the late Margaret Joan Wells; she was also predeceased by her adoptive father, Dominic Anthony Vigliotti, all of Bradford.
Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kowlsen of Bradford; as well as her brother, John Anthony Vigliotti of Atlanta.
She is survived by her beloved siblings, sister Angela (John) Pearson of Fishersville; her brothers Dave (Tammy) Vigliotti of Lilburn, Ga., and Dan (Karen) Vigliotti of Braselton, Ga., and her brothers-in-law Mark (Stacey) Kowlsen, of Jacksonville, Pa., and Matthew Kowlsen of St. Augustine, Fla. Although Tina and Mike did not have children of their own, she was adored by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and was an integral part of family gatherings.
Tina graduated from Bradford High School and from Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania. She later completed her bachelor's degree from Nova University, as well as her MBA from American Sentinel University.
Although she loved her initial career as a labor and delivery nurse, ultimately she and her husband built a successful health insurance administration company in Jacksonville, Fla. Case Management Consultants served many prestigious clients such as the Jacksonville Jaguars. She continued working in case management for the remainder of her career.
Tina professed her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ as a young teen and continued to grow in her walk with the Lord. For the past 10 years, Tina served as an active member at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church of America in Waynesboro. Hosting women's Bible studies, preparing meals for those in need, serving on the hospitality committee and participating in mission trips to a Guatemalan orphanage were just a few of her many contributions.
She enjoyed painting, flower arranging, gardening, decorating and creating a warm and welcoming home, but she will be most remembered for her fun personality and infectious laugh. She was loved by everyone who knew her, especially her King Charles spaniel, Buddy, who was her ever faithful companion.
Tina was pure joy to be around and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 8, 2025, at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro, officiated by the Rev. Kyle Kockler. To view the memorial service on livestream, go to Tabernacle Presbyterian Church's Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mike Kowlsen Memorial Big 30 Alumni Scholarship Fund. Checks may be made out to the fund and mailed to 183 Wyndham Hills Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939.

Friendship is a priceless gift that can´t be bought or sold. Its value is much greater than mountains made of gold. If you should ask God for a gift, be thankful if He sends not diamonds, pearls or riches, but the love and trust of friends. Poetry by Helen Steiner Rice and the gift from Tina. So many wonderful memories of our friendship.

Tina was a great big Sister. Her and her husband, my brother Mike Kowlsen gave me my first Bible. They both were instrumental in my walk with the Lord Jesus. She is reunited with her highschool sweetheart now and at peace. Tina was always so kind and compassionate. We had many morning coffees over the phone encouraging each other in our walk with the Lord. She will be forever missed here, and c a not wait to see her and Mike again.
