Virginia Hedlund Obituary

Virginia "Jane" Hedlund, 92, of 147 Gates Hollow, Bradford, passed away Saturday (March 24, 2012) at The Pavilion at BRMC.
Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late George and Oda Mae Anchors Wingard. On Aug. 17, 1943, in Allegany, she married Perry F. Hedlund Jr., who died Oct. 21, 2006.
She was a 1936 graduate of Kane High School. She had been employed at Corning Glass Company for nearly 30 years.
Mrs. Hedlund was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church.
Surviving is one daughter, Sandy (Leonard) Coffey of Bradford; two granddaughters, Denise Coffey of Bradford and Pam English of Yankton, S.D.; and three great-grandchildren, Frank Mezzelo, Amanda Mezzelo and Nicholas Alexander.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband; one great-grandson, Zachary Valerius; two sisters, Louise Schleiff and Bonnie Keener; and two brothers, James and Wilbur Wingard.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, and again on Thursday in the Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Douglas Soley, retired pastor, officiating. Mausoleum entombment will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 152 Seaward Ave., Bradford, PA 16701; or the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Ave., Erie, PA 16505.

To the Family of Jane, praying for God to provide his peace. Worked with Jane at Corning and she was a little lady with a big smile. Always quiet, but her smile made you smile. She is remembered with love!
