Clara Perry Obituary

Clara M. Perry 1917-2011 VERNON, VT Clara M. (Lawrence) Perry, 93, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Vernon Green Nursing Home in Vernon, Vt. She was born June 22, 1917 in Townshend, Vt., the daughter of Pauline (Perkins) and Fred Lawrence. She was married to Arthur Perry on March 10, 1936, and they lived in Townshend Vt., where Clara was a homemaker. She was an avid walker, doughnut maker for friends of Deervalley Rd., Townshend, and enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She was also a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Chesterfield, N.H. Clara was predeceased by her husband; daughter, Alice; granddaughters, Allyson and Donna Barden; grandson Steven Perry; sisters Delia and Winifred; and her brother, Oliver. She is survived by her son, George Perry and his wife, Carol of W. Brattleboro, Vt.; granddaughter, Robyn Chickering and her husband, Winford of Hillsboro, N.H.; granddaughter, Bonnie Perry and family in Seattle, Washington; four step-granddaughters, including Marie Brownell of Westminister, Vt., and Tina Stockwell of Brattleboro, Vt.; 14 great grandchildren, five great- great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Clara's family would like to thank Dr. Robert Backus of Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend, VT, and the staff of Vernon Green Nursing Home.
