WEST DOVER, VT Jill E. Harrington Hanzalik, 33, and her infant son, Chase Thomas Hanzalik, of 96 Ellis Brook Rd., West Dover, and formerly of Bernardston, Mass., died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.Born in Greenfield, Mass., on Sept. 4, 1976, daughter of Philip Harrington and Wendy Dubois, she was a graduate of Pioneer Valley Regional School in 1994, and a 1998 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, with a bachelor's degree in sports management.
She married Joseph Hanzalik on May 16, 2009, in West Dover.
She had worked for the Dallas Mavericks basketball team and the National Basketball Association in business development, events, and attractions, working very closely with the U.S. Olympic Basketball Team. At the time of her death, she was employed at New Chapter in Brattleboro, in management.
She was a wonderful wife and very close to her entire family including aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was the love of Joe's life.
Jill is survived by her husband; her father, Philip Harrington and his wife, Sharon, of Turners Falls, Mass.; her mother, Wendy Dubois, of Bernardston; two brothers, Adams and his wife, Kearstin, of Bernardston, and Kevin and his wife, Kelly, of West Dover; two stepsisters, Leighann Parda and Angela Whelan; her father and mother-in-law, Joanne and Thomas Hanzalik, of Albany, N.Y.; two brothers-in-law, Matthew Hanzalik and his wife, Tamara, of Albany, and Thomas Hanzalik of Albany; and nieces and nephews, Jayden, Aiden, Addison and Liam.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. from the KIDDER FUNERAL HOME, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Mass., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Main St., Northfield, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Lisowski, Administrator, will officiate. Calling hours will be Friday evening, Apr. 30 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home

I just this morning heard the news. I have not been in Mass for a long time, but I spent a lot of my younger years with Jill. We were in the first grade together. We spent many summers together. I was with her when she broke her arm. God Bless your family...My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Jill was so friendly, so beautiful and so full of life. I am thinking, every minute, of how much she is missed by her husband, her family and her peers. It is sad.
