Margaret Tuttle Folsom Coty, 79, of Brattleboro died suddenly at Thompson House Thursday morning September 30, 2021 due to heart complications. The daughter of Hugh and Mary Folsom, Margaret was born March 22, 1942 in Framingham MA and attended Perkins School for the Blind. She married Daniel Coty of Maine and had two daughters, Teena and Meg. Those who knew Peggy thought of her as a ray of sunshine each and every day. She loved the ocean and spending time at the farm and Marshfield for the summers, enjoying life with her many friends and family. She enjoyed going "up north" to visit with her daughter Meg and her husband Rick where the fresh air and all the animals made her so happy. She loved spending time with her granddaughter Leah and watching her great granddaughter Brook grow up. She enjoyed going for walks with her nephew Hubey and hearing about all his adventures . Margaret was definitely a "foodie", always looking forward to the next meal. She especially enjoyed meals brought to Thompson House by her daughter Teena. Church was also a large part of her life. She enjoyed singing the hymns and the pot luck lunches. She will be dearly missed by many, including her wonderful friend Larry Pierce. She was known by many names, affectionately called Mom, Popeye, aunt Peg or Margaret. Margaret is survived by her daughters Teena Barnes of Bellows Falls VT and Margaret (Meg) Robinson of North Stratford NH, her granddaughter Leah Moore of Guilford VT, great granddaughter Brook Hanson of Guilford VT, two nephews Sam and Hubey, three nieces Lili, Cathy and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her brothers, Hugh and Jack Folsom. A celebration of life will be held for family at a later date. Memorial donations in Margaret's memory may be made to The Vermont Council of the Blind.

I send my heartfelt condolences to Peggy's family and friends. Teena and Peggy and I went to fun Thanksgiving dinners at the American Legion. We really had a great time. I will always remember Peggy's smile and her happy upbeat energy. At the dinner, Teena would ask "What kind of pie would you like for dessert?".. And Peggy just loved to enjoy those home made pie slices! Rest in Peace, Dear Friend. I will miss you and always hold you in my heart and memory.

Dear Meg & Teena, So very sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet Mom. I had the occasion to stop in and visit with her on one of my trips home to Vermont ~ and she was still the delight I remembered her to always be. So many fond and wonderful memories with her and the both of you growing up ~ often sharing those with my husband and two daughters and their families. Deepest, deepest sympathy to you and yours. Much love.
