Robert "Bob" Paquette
1954 - 2010 VERNON, VT Robert John "Bob" Paquette, 56, of Ft. Bridgman Road, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 4, 2010.
He was born on April 8, 1954, in St. Albans, son of Duyane and Marjorie Dale Paquette. Bob owned and operated his own business, Bob's Auto Rescue of Vernon.
Of his pastimes and interests, he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and lived for turkey and deer hunting as well as fishing. He enjoyed playing softball for many years and coaching women's softball, especially while his daughters played for him.
Bob loved his family and friends very much. He had a huge heart and was a father figure to many, always available to assist anyone in need of help. His life centered around his family and he was an amazing "Papa" whose grandchildren were his pride and joy. Bragging about his grandchildren always made his face light up every time. The sound of his big, unforgettable laugh will be remembered by all who loved and knew him.
He was at his happiest when he was teaching youngsters about the outdoors; this included his daughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and Jeremy.
He leaves his mother, Marjorie Paquette; his two daughters, Jolene Marie (Paquette) Wright and husband, Jeffrey, and Laura Jean Paquette; Patti Paquette, his wife of 25 years, with whom he remained great friends; two brothers, David Paquette, and wife, Cathy, Steven Paquette and wife, Kim; two sisters, Rose Ashworth and husband, David, and Pamela Gleason.
Additionally, he leaves two grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored, Brittney Marie Wright and Evan Robert Wright and his fiancée, Mona Lee Mudge, and her children, Jeremy Ethan Lackey and Anthony John Bell, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Duyane John Paquette.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at West Brattleboro Baptist Church. Burial will follow in North Cemetery in Vernon.

Hey Papa, Its me Brittney. I hope you are doing okay. We really miss you down here. Sometimes I think to myself how proud you would be of me. Other times I don't know what to think. I can hear you come up the stairs. Sometimes I get kind creeped out but then I realize it's you. Whenever I write these i kinda feel like Im closer to you. But Im actually just getting further away. I hope you are always by mt side. I don't want you to ever leave my again. Hope one day (not anytime soon) I can come visit you. Then we will meet again and I will be able to make even better memories than we had then.
-Your munchkin Brittney

Papa, its your grandchild Brittney. You passed away when I was 6 years old. You taught me how to be a good child but when you left that all changed, and i'm sorry for that. Just so you know Papa i'm a big hunter like you were. I love to follow in your steps. I've shot a 3 point deer and 2 toms. Just for you. Papa you were my everything. I loved you so much and you left me. I am now 13 years old doing pretty good in school along with playing field hockey. I also play basketball and softball. I'm gonna be the pitcher for my 8th grade team. Why did you leave me? I really need you here in my arms. I love you so much. Mom and Evan are doing great. Evan is playing hockey and Mom is still playing softball. Mom, Evan and I are moving into your old house. Please come and visit me. I will try to be strong, but it's hard with you gone. Aunt Laura had a baby named Jace. He is a blessing. He will be two in December. It kills Aunt Laura knowing that her father will never meet her child. Not to make you feel bad. But really you had to go. Papa I never thought that it would be this hard without you here. Hope you are doing okay. Bye Papa I love you. -Pumpkin

I am not so far from you,
Just a little way beyond;
Past the cares and past the pain,
Far past my earthly bonds.
When you feel you miss me most,
As years go drifting by;
Each memory will prove to you,
That our love will never die.
For memories are but a touch,
From the Father's gentle hand;
To heal your pain and mend your hearts,
To help you understand...
That while I left you far too soon,
I did not leave alone;
For the Father sent His angels,
To gently take me home.
Take comfort when you think of me,
Keep my love alive in your heart;
And with the warmth of each memory,
We will never be apart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
