Roger Kingsley Obituary

NEW HAMPTON, N.Y. -- Roger A. Kingsley, 75, of New Hampton died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at a private residence in New Hampton.

Mr. Kingsley was born Dec. 7, 1930, in Readsboro, Vt., the son of Archie Kingsley and Nellie (Parsons) Kingsley. He grew up in Whitingham, Vt.

He was married to Janice Stone Kingsley.

He was a self-employed roofing and siding contractor. He worked in Vermont as a logger for Roy Brown, bending canes and chair backs at Sawyers Mill and farming on Peter Grace Farm (now Amos Brown Historic Site). He left for Connecticut in 1952 to work on A.C. Petersen Farms in Bloomfield. He moved to Goshen to work on the Nick Kolk Farm in 1958. He left farming in 1961 and worked as a siding mechanic, then started his own business, Kingsley Siding and Roofing, in 1972.

When he retired, he worked newspaper routes for the Times Herald Record of Middletown for 15 years. He enjoyed coaching Little League when his sons played for the Red Sox in Goshen. He relaxed working in his garden, cutting and piling firewood and working in his workshop listening to country music.

Mr. Kingsley is survived by his wife; two daughters, Marie Pascal and Judy Andryshak and her husband Stephen; two sons, Mark Kingsley and his wife Kristine, Brian Kingsley; grandchildren, Tom and his wife Khelie Pascal, Aaron and his wife, Zo, Helen, Jeremy and Bryan Kingsley, Stephen and Valerie Andryshak and Ryan Kingsley; great-grandchildren, Tom, Jhesse, Khaila and Sayge Pascal, Tiana, Jason, Tevin and Jesse Kingsley; and a sister, Rita.
