Carol Fitz

Carol (Granger) Fitz, 94, beloved wife of 70 years to Robert "Dick" Fitz, passed away on Sept. 13, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Barbara (Farrar) and Vernon Granger. Carol was a lifetime Bristol resident and spent every summer of her life at her beloved cottage on Cedar Lake.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Gaughan and her husband Philip; a son, Douglas E. Fitz and his wife Holly; four grandchildren, Michael Gaughan and his wife Holly, Christopher Gaughan and his wife Jill, Douglas J. Fitz and his wife Jesse and Elizabeth Fitz; three great-grandchildren, Finnegan and Laney Gaughan and Alexa Fitz.

The visiting hour will be on Friday, Sept. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol which has the honor of serving Carol's family. A service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in West Cemetery, 180 N. Washington St, Plainville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 355 Camp St., Bristol, CT 06010.
