Dean Varley

Dean E. Varley, 51, of Bristol, loving husband of Candi (Veilleux) Varley, slipped away from us into a peaceful journey on Sunday, May 10, 2024 at home surrounded by his family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Dean was born in New Britain on July 31, 1972 and is the son of James Varley and companion Deborah Chapman of Southington and the late Patricia (Donahue) Varley. Dean was raised in Bristol and graduated from Bristol Central High School in 1991. He entered his working career at Baskin Robbins of Southbury and then at HPC Food Services of South Windsor where he was employed for the past 25 years. He was also a very active member of Teamsters Local # 671 where he donated a lot of his time. When Dean was not hard at work, you could find him rockin' out on his drum set to his favorite bands which included Guns n Roses and Motley Crue. However, he was good at playing all kinds of music. Spending time with his family was by far his favorite pastime. He forged a strong bond with them especially in these last few months. Besides his loving wife, Candi, Dean is survived by his two children; James Varley and Sarah Varley both of Bristol, his two siblings; Jay Varley of Farmington and Maureen Roberts and her husband Christopher of Waterbury. He is also survived by his three special nieces; Megan Myska, Jena Varley and Caitlyn Varley, his coworkers and a host of friends. Calling hours for Dean will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 between 2 and 5 p.m. with a funeral home service at 5 p.m. at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave. Bristol, CT 06010.
