Diane Alma (Fongemie) Tousignant
PLAINVILLE
Diane Alma Tousignant, 75, beloved resident of Plainville, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by those she loved most on November 3, 2025. Diane was cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. Her kindness was evident in every aspect of her lifeshe was always ready with a warm smile, a gentle word, and a helping hand for anyone in need. Diane's love of life was infectious; she found joy in the simple moments and shared that joy generously with those around her.
Above all, Diane's grandchildren were her greatest treasures. She poured her heart into every moment spent with them, celebrating their achievements, comforting them in times of need, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Her grandchildren were truly her life, and she took immense pride in their growth and happiness. Diane's home was always filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of family.
Diane started her career as a Surgical OR Tech at New Britain General Hospital until she had her children and then was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 31 years until her retirement in 2014. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others touched countless lives. She approached her work with unwavering empathy, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike. Diane's legacy as a caregiver will be remembered by all who benefited from her gentle touch and support.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ron Tousignant; her children, Sheryl Moore and her husband, Sean Howard, Brian Tousignant and his wife Ellen Tousignant and Jill Benn and her husband Andrew Benn; and her beloved grandchildren, Alea Moore, Dilan Howard, Devin Moore, Aliveah Benn, Emma Tousignant, and Aiden Benn. Diane is also survived by her siblings, Marie (Judy) Dlubac, Marie (Carmen) Milliard, Donald Fongemie and his wife Patricia Fongemie, and Conrad Fongemie and his wife Angela Fongemie, as well as many nieces, nephews and her bonus daughter, Rachel Delaney Boyd. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.
