Gail Goodine Obituary

Gail B. Goodine, 66, of Bristol, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at home following a lengthy illness under the care of hospice, her loving family, and her beloved friend Donna Hricisko.
Gail was born in Quincy, MA on Oct. 6, 1955, and was one of eight children of the late Vernon and Bernice (McCarthy) Goodine.
The family moved to Bristol in 1962 and Gail would go on to graduate from Bristol Eastern High School. She retired in 2006 from AT&T after over 20 years with the former SNET.
Gail was known for bringing laughter, fun, love, and caring to the lives of everyone she met. She was an extremely dedicated mother whose door was always open and so she made friends out of neighbors, coworkers, and random strangers who always wanted to spend more time with her.
She was a mother figure to not only her son & grandson but to every child lucky enough to have met her. Kids in her neighborhood called her ""Gramma Gail"".
Gail is survived by her son Nicholas Goodine, and grandson Austin Goodine of Bristol; five siblings: Linda Fowler and husband, James, of Concord NH, Richard Goodine Sr. and wife, Cindy, of Burlington, Sharon Giglio and husband, John, of Wells, ME, Brenda Thomas of Bristol, Lawrence Goodine and wife, Christine, of Bristol, sister-in-law Kathy Goodine of East Haddam, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Colleen Perone, brother Kevin Goodine, and dear friend Brenda Leszkiewicz. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Erin Salmon and all the friends and family who cared for Gail in her time of need.
At Gail's request, a celebration of life will be planned for June 2022. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donating to St Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

It has been 3 years since Gail passed away. I think of her often, especially when I hear her favorite songs. She would light up with the biggest smile and sing all the wrong lyrics! Perhaps on purpose to make us laugh?! I like to think when I hear those songs that she´s saying hello. When she was in her early 20´s she not only worked 2 jobs but she adopted refugee families. She provided them with Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas trees and took the children bowling. She had the biggest heart and took such good care of her parents in their senior years. I treasure our last visit in Bristol just 2 months before her passing.
