Jane Piorkowski

1935 - 2024

NEW BRITAIN

Jane (Korza) Piorkowski, longtime resident of New Britain, CT, formerly of Old Saybrook, CT, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Jerome Home, New Britain CT on March 7th, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald F. Piorkowski. Born in New Britain, CT, on October 11, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Anna Korza(Bronia).

Jane graduated from New Britain High School, Central Connecticut State University(BS, MBA), and the University of Connecticut(Doctorate). Jane was a lifetime educator, teaching at the High School and College levels. Jane taught mathematics at her former high school New Britain High School, and later, until retirement, was a Professor at Central Connecticut State University. After retiring from CCSU, Jane continued to teach part time at numerous area colleges. Jane's most memorable assignment was teaching overseas twice, in Saudi Arabia. Jane was also a docent for many years at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Jane loved the beach, and would often go with her beloved dogs.

Jane attended Church at Saint Francis of Assisi, New Britain CT, and previously Sacred Heart Church, New Britain CT. Jane was a wonderful mom, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Jane leaves behind a son, David Peters and his wife Lisa of Wethersfield CT, a grandson, Ryan Peters of Boynton Beach FL, her nieces, Kathleen Sweitzer of Tucson AZ, and Meghan Peterson of Los Angeles, CA. Jane was predeceased by her loving her son, Alan J Piorkowski and her brother, Edward Korza.

The family will have a private service.
