Joan M. (Blinn) Tartarelli

Joan M. (Blinn) Tartarelli, 86, of Bristol, formerly of Terryville, passed away peacefully at Ingraham Manor of Bristol on Monday, February 16, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Waterbury on June 3, 1939, and was the daughter of the late George and Rosalyn (Bagley) Blinn. She lived in Waterbury for most of her life until 1985 when she married her husband Donald and they settled in Terryville. Joan retired from Valerie Manor where she was employed as a laundry supervisor. Prior to that, she worked at Cedar Lane Convalescent Home in Waterbury and also Grove Manor Convalescent Home, also in Waterbury. In her leisure time, Joan enjoyed playing endless cribbage games with Donald and was the last UNO Club survivor. She also enjoyed her weekly setback games with her friends Joan and Norm Luba and Steve and Ann Marie Luba. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her large family. Besides her husband Donald, Joan is survived by her children: sons, Daniel Fama of Waterbury, Thomas Fama and his wife Kim of Prospect and Dino Tartarelli of Bristol, her daughters, Judith Janiszewski of Oakville, Teresa Daddona and her husband Fran of RI, Laura Stephanofsky of Waterbury and Dina Ungiechajer and her husband John of Farmington. Joan is also survived by her sister, Patricia Martino of Reno, NV, 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was

predeceased by her son David Fama, her three brothers, George Blinn, John Blinn and Robert Blinn and by two sisters, Carol Mastriano and Rosalyn Bradley. A Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances De Sales (St. Anthony Church), 180 Laurel St., Bristol, CT 06010. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
